We use QB Credit Card processing and the rates for commercial cards that most businesses use have increased to about 3%. We never swipe cards since all our orders are called, sent or faxed in. Any suggestions on reducing the rate? Can we purchase a card reader and input the card info just like you would do if the card is dirty and does not swipe?

Sam's Club recently pestered the dickens out of us to switch to their First Data service. I bet COSTCO has a similar deal (if you don't mind dealing with a unionized company).
Convert your prospective change in discount to dollars. If one percent "savings" translates into five dollars, it isn't worth the aggravation. In my view.
