QB2007 Question/Gripe

The question: Is there any way to get QB2007 to restore my desktop (the windows I like to keep open) after it does a backup? As it is now, when the backup completes, all my windows are closed and I have to manually open the ones I like to keep open.

The gripe: What on earth possessed Intuit to bloat the size of the QBB files by 3 or 4 times the size they were prior to this version? It's really made transferring the file to my accountant much more of a chore than it used to be. In QB2005 a full backup was around 3 or 4 MB. Now they are 15MB!!!

Thanks!

1Gb USB thumb drives are less than $20. What's your problem again?!

The new file system is a major improvement over the old system. It was a long time in coming. Without the change they would not be able to compete in the market place. The company's very existence depended on making the change. You should be praising Intuit not burying them. Just for the record the file system change was made back in version 2006. If you are not sending your accountant the "Accountants Copy" then send the Portable version.

See the toggle switch in preferences to save the desktop view.

Or use something like SendthisFile that is designed to transmit large files.

Learn to deal with real files. Hell, you should see the size of those hour long episodes of uncompressed High Def video files, that get sent via the net!

There is a tool on every PC called FTP that is used to send those "big files." Learn to use what Bill Gates has given you.

And if you don't want to do that, the cost to overnight a thumb drive isn't that much! Or burn a CD.

Just engage your brain. Start thinking outside that damn little box called outlook.
