Quickbooks Pro 2004 1096 printing

Hi I printed 1099's which worked fine. When I printed the 1096, it checked the a box other than 1099-Misc. I went on Intuit's web site and they said it was as a result of rthe IRS moving the box for 1099-Misc. They said if I downloaded & installed updates, it would fix it so it would work properly. I downloaded & installed the updates, but it still checks the wrong box. Anybody have an help for this. I wasted alot of time on this today. I will probably just type the 1096's, but I was getting obsessed with getting it to work. Any ideas?

Wow! You have my permission to white out the incorrect checkbox and check off the right one.

Don't expect any patches to correct this issue. The tech person probably ment upgrade to a more current version.

No - it was on Intuit's website and they said that you only had to update 2004 to get it to work. Quickbooks is a great program, especially at the price. However, if you have a problem, you are kind of on your own. You are right, though. I like to get software I use to work the way it is supposed to. However, I have wasted enough time on this. It is white out time.

You should realize that many of the knowledge base articles were writen when the program was current. The one you read refered to the 2004 1099 not the

2005.

Quickbooks is a great program,

I have moved beyond this, but this article was written 12/6/05. I use a real estate program that costs alot more, but does not do some of the as well as Quicken does. One advantage the expensive program has is live support. If you talk to 2 or 3 support people, one of them usually knows what is going on . With Quickbooks, you are out of luck.
