Transfer of Funds

Mar 09, 2006 3 Replies

I am transferring funds from an account at my bank to an account at my investment firm. I used a check to do this. In QB, what's the proper procedure? I can journal it, with a debit to the investment account and a credit to the bank account. I then can edit the journal entry to reflect the check number - although it doesn't let me edit the number in the register directly, like I can with a check. Is there a better way to handle this?

TIA

Since you used a cheque, Write Cheque seems the most logical method.

You can also use Make Deposit, Transfer Funds, or a Journal Entry.

The best method is usually the one that works best for you.

Just use Write Check and in the Account column use the Other Asset account that you use for investment account (or owner withdrawals or whatever)
