Are the workers employees or independent contractors?

Vendor checks can't display automatically YTD payments. The 1099 reports can be used to track all payments to vendors even if they are not set up as 1099 recipients.

they are independant brokers in a courier company. I was hoping to be able to have ytd on their cheq stubs each pay period.

If they are truly independant then its time they grow up and keep their own records. Your responsibility is to send them a 1099 at the end of the year period.

Sounds like the OP had move them to payroll before the IRS determines that his employees are actually employees.

what are you people talking about. this is a simple question of if you can track ytd with a vendor.. brokers are brokers not employees and handle their own taxes it is not on me to withhold them. I just wanted a technical question answered about tracking...if you don't know the answer, don't bother giving your opinions on what you think is going on. Thanks to those who actually helped. I'll figure it out or ask someone else next time rather then deal with those who don't actually have anything worth contributing

Your question was answered. It can't be done if you have set them up as vendors.

You could subscribe to a payroll subscription and set them up as "employees" in order to print ytd amounts on a check. Just be careful when you set them up and use "additions" instead of wages to avoid any payroll tax implications. I have several ICs set up as employees in order to use Direct Deposit for them.
