New issue:

ctrl-f used to bring up a find window set to search all fields. Now it comes up set to search date - I assume because the date fields of the enter new transaction line is selected. BAA.

Hi Marc - I'm not sure what your issue is.

If I am in a register and enter CTRL/F, it does bring up the field by default that I happen to be in (ie: PAYEE, DATE, whatever). I can easily drop that down to change whatever I wish to search on.

I don't even use this CTRL/F since the super-search field on the top right gives me every field no matter what the search argument is, and for me, that's far easier to enter anyway for what I might be looking for.

So I don't understand your concern is. What am I missing?

It used to be that if the selected field was in the line for entering a new transaction rather than in an existing transaction, the default was all fields rather than date. (I'm talking about 2014). Note that when you open a register that's were the selected filed is - in the not yet filled in line.

I'm a keyboard rather than mouse oriented user. It used to be that ctrl-f, type the search value, alt-f did the trick without going to the mouse. AFAIK you need the mouse to get to the equivalent search box in the upper right.

Ah, ok. I presume what you say is all correct, and that line is what I failed to understand in your posts. Not sure why you don't use the mouse, but to me it is working fine. (Now, soon people will be asking why *I* don't use the touchscreen....)
