After updating to Release 8, Quicken crashes whenever I try to move away from the default opening account. I'll investigate more, and maybe the problem is peculiar to my Quicken file. But you've been warned ;-)

Seems to only crash when I try to change to my Alliant CU checking account. Other Quicken files seem to work fine. My laptop which is still at Release 7 can switch to the Alliant checking account without problems.
Quicken 2011 Release 8 seems to reliably crash when I try to change to any account with a flag next to it. Well, at least with 2 accounts tried so far, I'll try clicking on some more :-)
So far, the crashes reliably occur ONLY with my Alliant CU and Charles Schwab checking accounts. HSBC, ING are working. I'll keep clicking and see if there are any others that will precipitate a crash.
JFCU, Lockheed, NASA, NFCU, PFCU checking accounts all work.
So does my FIA credit card with a flag.
I guess it's time to re-install and go back to Release 7.
Validated file on laptop running Q2011 H&B R7, one error corrected. Super validated file, multiple transaction errors corrected. Copied file over to desktop running R8, can now access both problem accounts.
So, if I correctly understand this, the problem was with your files and not R8?
Lee
Correct, I would suggest validating & super validating before accepting Release 8
Will do. Thanks.
FWIW, I neither validated nor super validated and had no problems with R8. By any chance, did you do electronic transfers in R7? I know that caused integrity problems unless the workaround as published here was adhered to.
John: No electronic transfers from Quicken. Bob
