Alternatives to Quicken (don't want MFA let alone Intuit ID)

I don't have any banking relationship with Intuit but they appear insistent upon forcing Multi Factor Authentication down my throat.

I don't want express web connect or any Intuit based cloud interface but this unnecessary requirement is getting out of control. I do download Stock Prices from Intuit, but they only know what symbols I download (I hope). Quicken also need to connect to Intuit occasionally to refresh its FI information (mostly the ofx download link information).

My current Intuit ID is NOT associated with any email address. It was setup as just a random Intuit ID with a random password. There is no where to email me an MFA token. As a practical matter I will probably need to create a new Intuit ID and change my files to use it. The fact that I can do this shows how useless the Intuit ID/MFA is.

They are now telling me that I must upgrade QW2015 to R10 by next week (one week notice). This version is broken (as reported here a few months back, constant prompts for Intuit ID password). They apparently fixed the problem with QW2106 but haven't fixed it in QW2015.

Intuit has been playing with this Intuit ID silliness for several years now and can't get it right. Patch after patch to "fix" Intuit ID, all they seem to do is make it worse. They are floundering without a clearly stated path of what they are trying to do.

What is up with ? How does an upload of a copy of my drivers license, passport or other documentation prove anything at all? That request is certainly exceeding information I'm willing to supply to a software vendor.

Are there any viable alternatives to Quicken? Last year MoneyDance seemed to be close, but was lacking in a few areas (I don't remember now what was lacking).

Stuart p.s. I mostly post here complaining about the Intuit ID, but I get a lot of useful information from the other posters here.
