Amount in Calendar Different than in the Register

I am using Quicken H&B 2005 R5. I like to use the 'Calendar' to predict how much money I have in my checking account after I pay bills and such. For today's date the register states I have $380 but the calendar says I have $875. Any ideas on what's going on?

Scheduled Transactions. Wouldn't be much of a prediction without them: you could just look at your account balance.

The calendar takes into account of of my scheduled transactions, both deposits and payments. Which doesn't do me any good if I don't enter them into my register. I'm not going to enter a months worth of scheduled transactions into my register just to see what my balance will be on a particular day, as that is the job of the calendar; which has the wrong balance!

Check to see if the calendar matches either your "Online Balance" or "Current Balance" in the register as opposed to the "Ending Balance"

First: your original post indicated you thought there was something wrong because the balance in the Scheduled Transactions graph differed from your register balance; I just pointed out that the difference should be due to scheduled transactions which would not yet be in your register.

Second: I have no idea where you got the idea that the scheduled transactions graph does you no good if you don't enter the scheduled transactions into your register. I didn't say you should enter future scheduled transactions in your register prematurely, or imply that; and you do not need to do so to get the information the scheduled transactions graph is designed to provide.

The graph works fine for me; it correctly tells me what my future balance will be based on my current actual balance plus any future scheduled transactions.

I use Quicken XG 2006 (Canadian Edition). This tip should work the same way: Look at the Calendar view, select Calendar Accounts, All Accounts. Then look at the Scheduled transactions showing up on the Calendar. If there is something there that does not belong there -- you should know which transactions should and should not be scheduled -- double click on them and delete them. The scheduled balance should more-accurately match up with your expectations.
