Quicken 2005: I am trying to delete a security. I get a message saying "You can't delete this security because you've used it in one or more transactions"
I have deleted all transactions and deleted the price history. When I hit "report" for the secuirty it comes up blank. There is nothing else to delete.
How do I get rid of this guy?
Do you have any hidden brokerage/investment accounts?
I had one hidden that did not include the security in question. I "unhide" it but it doesn't make any difference. Still can't delete the security.
I have had the same problem and never did find out a solution, but sometimes I accidentially managed to solve it. In addition to previous suggestions---Make sure it is not "matched with an on-line security". Make sure it is not on any watch list. And, of course, validate.
