Changing routing numbers - OL-393 error?

Jul 09, 2007 3 Replies

My bank was taken over by another. They are keeping the same account numbers, but changing the routing number.

When I went into Quicken, I went to "Accounts", then "Account Info" and edited the routing numbers to exactly what my bank said they should be.

When I went to "Online" and did an update, I got an OL-393-A error. I've tried this twice now on different days.....I doubt the bank's server was down. Don't quite know where to proceed from here----any idea what I might have done wrong?

Thanks. Dean

P.S. I kept the account NAME the same, but that shouldn't matter????

One more thing I forgot. I did this because my bank sent me a warning letter that I needed to discard my old checks and change my routing number at any online banking services, otherwise I wouldn't have messed with it at all.

The "account name" doesn't matter, but the "financial institution" name might.

You can check this kb article for the complete rundown on OL-393 errors.

{Please include your Quicken version (and os) when you post future questions.]

Sorry, I meant to add: your financial institution is the right place to take problems like this ... especially if you do not include their name in your posts here.
