Community Discussion: Retag Transactions - Does not work

All the posts in this Community discussion (and several other Community discussions on the subject) make the same mistake.

Humans often try to establish good habits, and avoid bad habits. But sometimes reflexively falling in love with a long-working beneficial habit blinds humans to the fact that there is often more than one way to skin a cat. The one habit that every human should adopt and never drop, is the habit of thinking, of looking for alternative ways of doing things: sometimes referred to as "thinking outside the box" (though the problem of this Community discussion can be addressed while remaining within, what I believe, are the confines of the existing "box".

It is true that there is a current Quicken bug (affecting, at least, versions R47.11 thru R47.15) that is failing to modify multiple selected transactions in Quicken reports (select multiple transactions, then right-click a selected transaction to access the bulk-edit of transactions) . In my tests, the bug is not limited to failing to retag transactions: no edit of transactions selected in Quicken reports is working.

But contrary to the whining in the the Quicken Community, transactions can still be mass changed ... by using the All Accounts pseudo-register.

Select multiple transactions in the All Accounts register, right-click a selected transaction, choose "Edit transaction(s), select the field to change (in the "Replace" dropdown), key or select the desired new value (in the "With" dropdown), then click the Replace button.

[I have tested this in both R47.11 and R47.15]
