Duplicate check number notification issue?

So I am reusing a series of check numbers I write from over two years ago. (New bank, same duplicate check numbers now starting over from #101). Quicken is advising me I am reusing a number. Fine.

Wasn't there some option to limit the look-back period (to 1 year, 2 years?) to avoid these nags from a *long* time ago?

I liked this in the past in case the number being reused was *recent*. But EVERY check is being nagged about now.

Or is this my Alzheimer's kicking in?

If you haven't already, you may want to uncheck the "Warn if a check number is re-used" Notify preference (select "Edit"->"Preferences" and "Notify").

If you wish to continue issuing the option, you may want to consider using a new register or modifying the check numbers if you wish to avoid the notification.

Thanks - yes, either of those two ideas will get me out of the situation, but they're both work arounds. I was just wondering if I really lost it in thinking there used to be a "look-back" period for such warnings. Could have sworn there was.

So I continue to use it, I just have to quickly bypass the nag screen by scanning the "offending" date and ensuring it indeed is a 'long' time ago. I don't write that many checks where I'm that much aggravated.

I just thought perhaps I'm missing another option turn on that used to be in place.
