Export quicken to simply accounting

I have Quicken 2002 Home and Business and Simply Accounting Version 8.5A. I'm trying to export from Quicken into Simply but can't seem to make it work. In Simply, I've tried to import miscellaneous transactions, transactions etc, but nothing seems to work. So I'm wondering if the two versions are compatible? All I can import is a qif file from quicken, and what simply accounting wants is an imp file.

Thanks for any help

I'm trying to eat my soup, but all I have is a fork. No matter how hard I'm trying, I can't seem to get any food into my mouth. What could be the matter? I'm wondering if a fork is a good utensil to eat soup with. I know it says on the packet a spoon is required, but I'm hell-bent on using this fork because it worked when I was eating my salad.

I'm wondering why you are even wondering whether the two pieces of software are compatible? It should be clear to you. By what logic do you assume that they are compatible if you can plainly see that they do not have a filetype in common in their export/import functions?

If you have access to the data formats required by Simply Accounting, consider writing your own conversion routine as an Excel macro - if you look on the web, similar work has already been done. (

and others - use Google). Finally, sonsider asking in a forum for Simply Accounting, because everyone who has been successful in the conversion will be in a discussion forum for Simply Accounting, not in the Quicken forum.

Wow, two paragraphs of arrogant drivel before you finally became somewhat human and barely useful.

My ISP's newsgroups, didn't have a Simply Accounting forum, but they did have a Quicken one. I'm sorry for being so stupid... I guess I should just go off myself now... make your life easier.

You really need to work on your "helping" methods. Why you even go to newsgroups to "help" people is beyond me. It must be to satisfy some egotistical defect in your polluted gene pool. All I asked for was some help, because I had been told that you can import your banking information (that comes in Quicken format) into Simply Accounting. I really didn't need to be belittled by you. I just needed an answer. I hope this helps YOU in your long road to dealing with people in a nicer manner. Oh, and maybe removing that big stick from your ass would help too.

Sorry, I'm with Mike B on this one.

If the only price you pay for help is having to read through a couple of paragraphs of "drivel", it's still well worth it.

Moo's response did not endear him to anyone who might have been able to help him. If he wants more free help, he needs a thicker skin.
