My father recently found an old Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Inc (70 Pine Street , New York 5, New York, Whitehall 4-1212) 10/28/1966 (sorry no actual stock certificates for either company). It was a custodial account with my name (and my mother) and it also shows a transfer transaction from my grandparents (a JE-Journal Entry) for the AT&T transaction. I have contacted Merrill Lynch to see if they had any information on the account number I have. They researched old records, new records and they no longer use that account number series, we tried birthdays, SS#, Addresses, names and still no avail. I also checked the Unclaimed Accounts and nothing there either. I am also trying to reach out to AT&T, but the line has been busy. Am I spinning my wheels, or are there other venues to explore to see if these stocks still exist. My father doesn't remember cashing out these stocks and my mother is no longer with us in the physical world, so I can't ask her. I can send pictures of the documentation I have, if needed.
