Help Needed to figure out how to download Bank Act when others at Same bank work just fine

I repeatedly get this message when I try to download from one of the six accts I have at Washington Mutual Personal Banking. The others download just fine. This account is NOT activated in Quicken, it is deactivated. When I try to set it up I am instructed by quicken to go to the website & do an initial download. But whenever I do it comes up with this message. I have tried setting up a new account within quicken but that doesn't work either.

You have downloaded transactions for an account that does not exist in your Quicken data file OL362.

Any ideas?

Have you checked with Washington Mutual, as to whether they've activated this account, *allowing* you to download data?

I can only suggest that you try and deactivate all accounts at WaMu and try again setting them all up. No promise of success though.

What version of Quicken?

That message is supposed to indicate that there is something out of sync between your Quicken account and the bank's server. If you have fields such as Customer ID, Routing Number, Account Number filled in for that account; I would clear them out and try again.

Having said that, I notice that when I create a brand new checking account in Q2005, those fields are not even present. When I initiate a download to setup the account for Transaction Download, and the account is matched and Activated, then those fields show up in my Account Overview. So, I can't figure out why you could not succeed when you created a new account to download to since there should have been no fields to be out of sync ... I think.

If the download continues to fail in your current file, try creating a New Quicken file, setup a new account there, and see if a download will succeed. Perhaps you have some corruption in your Quicken data.

Distant?

It might behoove you to give them a call.

It couldn't hurt!
