Hiding An Account

Loading thread data ...

Using Q2009, I have an old loan that shows up in the "Loan Accounts Summary" even though I have that account set for "Hide this account in Quicken", "Hide this account in account B" and "Don't include this account in Net Worth totals".

Other than deleting the account (which I don't want to do), how do I hide this account? Is this a bug?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks John: But...

Even with the "show hidden account" unchecked, the loan still shows when I select "net worth", "loans" and "then choose loan". It shouldn't be there - other inactive loans are not shown.

Thanks, Art

I'm a little confused now.

In your original post, you said the loan was appearing in the "Loan Accounts Summary" ... now you are saying it's appearing in the "View Loans: Choose Loan" dialog.

In my experience, truely hidden loans do not appear in the "Loan Accounts Summary"; but all loans - hidden or not - appear in the "View Loans: Choose Loan" dialog.

Be advised: there is (what I believe to be) a bug in Q2009 that turns on "Show hidden accounts" when you hide an account.

[I don't know what you mean when you refer to "inactive" loans.]

You're right and sorry to confuse you. Unchecking the "show hidden accounts" box did remove the loan from the 'Loan Accounts Summary", but I then noticed that it is in the "view loans" dialog box - where other hidden loans don't show. I hope this is clearer.

I have Q2009 RPM R6 and Q2008 Premier R9: in both products, all my loans show in the "View Loans" dialog; whether they are fully hidden or not. I don't know how you removed any accounts from that list.

I have six loans - 4 old and hidden and 2 active. In that dialog box, I only see one current loan and one hidden loan. Q2009 R6. Strange
