merge 2 accounts

Aug 27, 2010 2 Replies

I have 1 bank checking account at my bank. (wells-Fargo) and have been using it with Quicken for several years. Currently I have been using Quicken 2010 for many months.

About a month ago, while I was on a service call with the bank, a "new" account with the same account number, routing number and customer ID number was started. Since then , all of my downloads and uploads go to that account. I would like to have the 2 accounts merged so that I do not lose access to the data in the "old" account. The bank support people have been unable to help me merge these two accounts together. I would appreciate any help to accomplish this.

Select all the transactions in the "old" account (as you would select all files in a folder in Windows Explorer).

Click Edit > Transaction > Move transaction(s), and select the the name of the "new"er Quicken account in the drop down list, where you want all your transactions for that real-world account to reside.

Once you are certain the "new" account is correct, delete the "old" account.

Backup first!

THANK YOU! Thank YOU! That was the answer.
