Multicurrency problem when fixing corrupt accounts.

Hello,

I am using Quicken 2005 H&B, in Windows XP Pro Environment.

I have a main quicken file with movement for over 10 years. This file has accounts in 4 different currencies. I need to create several smaller quicken files from this origianal. All the new files are different in the sense that they will have different time ranges.

Anyway, my problem is when exporting and importing I loose the different currencies and all are set to USD $. This is what I've dont and hasnt worked:

FIRST TEST

1) Exported ALL the transactions with corresponding time intervals from original Quicken file. 2) Imported transactions to new clean empty file.
  • It imported them all but all in USD.

SECOND TEST

1) Exported ALL the transactions ... 2) Created new file with multicurrency support 3) Imported....
  • Same thing, all is USD

Now, what I am thinking of trying is creating a new file and within that file creating the accounts with the correct currency and same name. And then importing. Maybe this will work.

If I were working in Quicken 2004 this wouldnt be a problem because there are no limitations to importing and exporting from any type of account. If there is a workaround for this issue, I could resolve everything else.

Anyway, If anyone has an idea that could help out, I would be grateful.

Yes that is what you must do. Quicken exports amounts to QIF files in the currency of the account they were exported from; you must import them into an account created for the same currency.
