OSU takes many times longer to run in 2013 than in 2010 Deluzxe

I updated to 2013 Deluxe recently. Used to be able to run OSU in about

5-7 minutes for 10 institutions. Now it takes longer than this for almost any one of them run individually, and I've given up trying to do it for all accounts at once. Is there some security or other setting that got changed in the update? Or is QW 13 just that much slower? RUnning Vista on a quad core processor machine 4gb of ram.

TIA Jim

5-7 minutes? I check about that many accounts every morning in about 30 seconds. IIRC there are two types of OSU processes, depending on what your bank has agreed to pay Intuit. One is slower than the other. That may have something to do with it. I'd start with the OSU log files and see what is in there. The log files are usually here:

C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Intuit\Quicken\Log

Start with CONNLOG.TXT. If you can't figure out what is wrong, you can always do scheduled OSU downloads at 4AM when it doesn't matter how long it takes.

The two connection methods are: Direct Connect and Express Web Connect.

I've never tried to time either one (I don't use Express Web Connect), but just knowing what Express Web Connect "may" have to do (screen scrape from your financial institution's web site), I'd say EWC could easily be slower than Direct Connect.

If the problem lies with one financial institution, you'd have to determine that by process of elimination. Use "Update Now" for each financial institution and time the results. Or, as suggested, you could probably get the timings from the Quicken CONNLOG (Help > Log Files).

If no financial institution seems to be the culprit; try eliminating the download of quotes from OSU. Also eliminate updating of Quicken.com, and the downloading of currency exchange rates.

[My Q2013 download times are no slower than my Q2010 download times.]
