My old version of quicken has errors in it which cannot be corrected. I want to upgrade but do not want an automatic carryforward of the incorrect information. Specifically, the invoices on quicken for business are wrong. Is there a way to do a custom upgrade that will let me specify which accounts I want carried forward and which ones left out?

You can delete the accounts in your current version file before you convert. Taking care about transfers, which will become uncategorized transactions if they contained the category of an account that was deleted.
