Problem Copying Splits in Q2008

Am I doing some thing wrong? This used to work in previous versions but doesn't seem to in Q2008 Deluxe. When in a split, I used to hit ' (apostrophe) on a line and it would copy the category and class of the line above. When I do that in 2008 it copies it, BUT when you hit enter to go to the next field (which is the class -- or Tag as they're now called) it clears the tag so you have to type it in. Hitting the apostrophe again will not enter it in the field. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Or is this "broken" in 2008 version.

I don't think the behavior is intended. [Interestingly, it does not matter how you elect to leave the Category field - including using your mouse to move the cursor from the Category field to the amount field - as soon as you leave the Category field, the Tag field is cleared.]

You can avoid the problem if you don't care about seeing the Tags as separate fields in the register:

Edit > Preferences > Quicken Program > Register

Uncheck the box to "Show Tag field".

That will put things back to the way they looked (and worked) prior to the existance of Tags.

I never knew about this feature so I just tested it and it works for me in Q08Prmr.

Hmmm... interesting. So am I understanding correctly... you do NOT lose your tag/class when you move from the category field thru tag field to amount field using the " to copy the line above ???? I finally gave up and changed Q08 Deluxe so that the register preference doesn't show the tag field. And it does work fine that way. The problem is *only* when the tag field is visible as far as I can tell.
