Problems downloading J.P. Morgan 401k accounts

Some information for those experiencing difficulties downloading your J.P. Morgan 401k account since late in 2016 as indicated in this Quicken Community discussion,

421623#reply_18421623. The original poster in that discussion also submitted a post later in the discussion, from Empower Retirement, that pretty much explained the problem (which the original poster appears not to realize). The Empower Retirement response probably could have been a bit clearer.

1.) Around September 2016, Great-West Financial acquired J.P. Morgan Retirement Services. See: I believe that is why you received two statements in September 2016. 2.) Empower Retirement is owned by Great-West Financial, and Great-West Financial is the financial institution you will now be receiving your old J.P. Morgan 401k downloads from. Your 401k account holdings should remain the same, but the correct Quicken financial institution for those holdings is now Great-West Financial.

3.) Great-West Financial is currently only offering "Web Connect" downloads to Quicken for Empower Retirement accounts. Great-West Financial has said (in the above Quicken Community discussion) that are working on implementing "Direct Connect" downloads for Empower Retirement accounts. Until Direct Connect is available, you will have to log on to Empower Retirement and initiate your downloads from there. And while it is possible to get security prices in Web Connect downloads, Great-West Financial does not seem to be sending them (except in transactions ... and transactions do update your Quicken price history). Also: generally, you can't get correct prices for mutual funds held in 401k accounts from Quicken price downloads (and you should not include those securities in your Quicken price downloads).
