Q D 2006 Release 4 available

Q D 2006 installed Release 4 this morning (Thursday, 1/19/2006). But the documentation isn't on the web yet; should be on their site at :

since

are available.

Anyone know if the documentation as to what's in a patch is available locally after one has installed it?

I found the release notes at:

Essentially, they are:

Tax Changes

  • Provide the yearly update to the Tax Rates and Social Security threshold.
  • Provide the ability to change tax year to previous year in Tax Planner scenario.

.Printing

  • Add the PDF driver to support x64 operating systems.
  • Remove the Check 21 Wallet check type for continuous feed printers.

Investments

  • Modify the rules used to account for the accrued interest in the Bought Bond form as follows: o Use Miscellaneous Expense when purchase is made from current account. o Use Miscellaneous Expense & Transfer when purchase is made from another account. o Use Miscellaneous Expense & Transfer when purchase is made from a linked account. o This issue applies strictly to manually entered transactions and has no impact on downloaded transactions.

Other Enhancements

  • Improve Find & Replace functionality updating the form to include the data from the field selected when initiating the find.
  • Update scheduled transaction snapshot to properly remove scheduled items that have been printed or sent online.
  • Address data integrity issue causing certain files to freeze when launching Quicken.

Yep. There's a button you can press before updating. Not a whole lot - 64 bit PDF driver, and some tax updates...

Note: To avoid problems doing the update, disable automatic backup (after every 1 use of Quicken).

Another thing that's not on the web site is a link for the manual update.

So, here it is:

ftp://ftp.quicken.com/pub/quicken/QW06R4Patch.exe

Notan

I was wondering where the manual update was. Even though I usually update from within Quicken, I like having that patch safely stashed away. I usually get 'em from:

... But it's still listing the R3 update. So thanks, Notan. :-)

Clark - Thanks for the reply; I hesitate to post this, but what the hell? We're friends.

Did you see my words '***after**** one has installed it?'. I do know that there's that button BEFORE I installed it as you suggested. That's what I forgot to look at and why I asked the question!

I'm only pulling your leg as I was bemused by your post. Forgive me.

Missed that... Sorry. Presumably one of the other posts helped...

Yep - but please, I was really only kidding you! I appreciate the thought you posted. Better that than not posting at all.
