Q says that my changed PW is not acceptable to my bank?

Last time I changed my password, I first went to the bank and did so. Log in out without issue. Went to Q 2016, made the change there for auto download and got the message "~ password is not acceptable to your bank".? Followed the rules for PW from the bank, standard stuff, but Q does not even check first before giving me this message. What's up with this. Tx

What special characters does your ID and password use?

Certain ones aren't acceptable within Q because they disrupt the communications between Q and you bank ... yet they might still be acceptable to the bank if typed directly into the bank's website.

I ran into the problem my password was too long. Once I shorted it it worked fine.

I have also run into the issue with certain special symbols not working.

I had a similar problem with my new Bank Of America account. When I complained to BOA they said "Why do you want to use Quicken?"

That was actually a good question since once I got it working I found BoA doesn't support OnLine billpay through Q.

While there is a lot more to Quicken than just sending online billpay instructions to a bank; BofA most certainly does support Online Billpay via Quicken. You must use "Direct Connect" as your Connection Method (which is free with BofA).

Yes it does. I've been doing it for years, and I still do it almost every day.

According to the BoA rep I just spoke to, people who have On Line Bill Pay through Quicken are grandfathered in and it will continue to work. They will not support it for new accounts.

Not a huge deal. I don't expect to be paying many bills from this account.

Wow! I didn't know that. That's one of the most valuable features of Quicken to me. If BofA stopped supporting it, I would change banks.

Yup. My job pretty much requires me to have a BoA checking account, but since they don't support Bill Pay (they do support transaction down loads) I'll continue to bank with Wells Fargo.

Is there a special characters list that quicken says what cannot be used in PW's? However, currently using +, Funny thing, I can sign into my bank with this PW Manage PW area has a "NO" for stored password and will not allow me to add. When I view update settings, the "bank" has a blank area to input PW, the PW works there. I tried a restore, that did not work

What works now, I deactivated the connected and re-activated. Put in UN & PW and it accepts it. Manage PW area now has a yes for PW stored.

Tx for suggestions and discussion!

See my earlier post. BoA no longer supports Bill Pay via Quicken for new accounts. Existing accounts will still work.

If I didn't have to maintain a BoA account, this would have been a deal breaker.
