Steps to change default RMS database password

Jan 16, 2007 4 Replies

A customer of mine is running RMS v1.2. When RMS was installed, they used the default SA password. The best practices recommendations from Microsoft is to change the default password. As I'm not strong in RMS or database applications, I'm looking for some help on where and how to make this change. I've turned up some information on Microsoft's site. But most of these seem to assume a moderate amount of database expertise.

TIA

I just got a call from the user. They followed the steps outlined. Everything went fine. But, when they try to start Manager, they receive the message "Could not connect to database". They shutdown and restarted the computer with no change to the message. They can get in to Administrator but not Manager.

Any Ideas?
