Q2011 -> Q2012 Am I reading this correctly

I am considering the Quicken offer that comes with the TT Advantage subscription. When I look at the feature matrix though, it looks like Intuit... well, ... pulled in an Intuit: I have Q2011 Deluxe and I use it to track investments. Nothing fancy but I can track securities, the accounts, including IRA's and 401(k)'s, that hold them, and download the latter if the FI offers it.

It looks like to do that with 2012 I'll need the Premier edition, since investments don't show up in the feature matrix under Deluxe. Is that correct. They've done that before if I'm not mistaken with either Quicken or TT or both.

... or am I reading it wrong?

Thank You, -- Jim

I'd say you were seeing a bit of fuzzy marketing.

I believe the specs for virtually all Quicken year versions have had that "distinction". But I bet you won't have any more problem tracking your investments in Q2012 Deluxe than in Q2011 Deluxe.

If you should lose features, you can either pay the difference and upgrade to Premier; or return the product (within 60 days) and get a full refund.

FWIW, I pretty much just upgraded from Q2009 Dlx to Q2012 Dlx and the Investment Accounts at hand continue to function as before. By that meaning transactions continue to download in Q12 via OSU as they did before in Q09. I've never dwelled upon reporting/analysis differences in moving up the food chain as I've only ever been interested in the arithmetic pluses and minuses. I'm unaware of anything that might have been in 09 that is not now in 12. Go to the Quicken Home Page

formatting link
and click on Compare Products and then Open All and you'll see that Investments are supported from the gitgo.Someone else (you?) would have to weigh the value of Premier+ Geo. Long Valley, NJ
