Q2016 cannot open if connected to the internet becasue it says it cannot connect to the internet!

I just break down such transactions into three or four max amount transactions, as an easy work around.

I was looking for a replacement for Quicken. Found a program that "took over" everything that Quicken did including downloading from my bank. There are other programs out there.

I paid for Quicken and expect to continue to receive the benefit of my bargain.

But, for future reference and perhaps others, what program did you select? I have looked on line and didn't see anything yet that caught my interest.

Thank.

Q2016 is not intentionally preventing you from using it; and I do not believe you when you say they did. I believe you either misunderstood them or are misrepresenting what they told you.

As I already posted in this thread, you are required to have internet access; but that is all. I have run Q2014, Q2015, and Q2016 after their expirations with NO problem

It is their choice to make.

The choice was made back around Q2014, and had nothing to do with pressuring users to upgrade - you can't avoid verification by upgrading and if the problem you're experiencing occurred in the newest version, it would cause that version to fail as well.

See my comments above. The lack of evidence remains.

You and a few others are having a problem with a specific release of one specific version of Quicken. That hardly qualifies as proof (or even evidence) of a plot to pressure you into upgrading.

You are pretending that human error is a plot to deprive you of what you deserve - which is the utter nonsense I originally told you it is.

A non sequitur response to my comments.

Then you need to either supply some additional evidence to allow those not having the problem to cause it to happen in order to move the repair process forward, or cease posting and just follow the thread that Sherlock pointed you to.

And as I previously quoted their exact words: "Let me inform you that Quicken 2016 is an unsupported version now so you will not be able to get access in to the program with internet connection."

But since I can open Quicken when my internet is disabled, they do NOT require to verify me as a valid user.

I guess their quote doesn't count.

Except they state it is their intent, not human error.

I will cease posting here, as I have not received any help. I don't know what else to tell you to allow you to replicate the problem. I will follow the thread Sherlock pointed to, but it seems to have ended and given what Quicken has specifically stated to me, I think the issue is intentional and will remain.

I do understand. I also guess if that if decided you'd pay the subscription fee, you're being held hostage. I hope you'd consider doing that, not as extortion, but as supporting the company and program. They took a big risk, in my opinion, purchasing the rights to Quicken from Intuit and I hope they succeed. Enuf said from my end. Peace.
