Q99 and XP Problem?

I recently went from Win98 to a new XP system. I reloaded Quicken 99 on my machine and installed all the patches. It is now at Rev 5. My Win 98 Quicken was at Rev 4 as I did not know of the Rev 5 patch.

I can no longer import prices or transactions. When I try to import prices (CSV file), I get "No valid prices to import". Similarly with importing a QIF file, I get "no valid records found to import".

My procedures for doing these hasn't changed. I have been importing prices weekly for many years and QIF data monthly for as long. The files look good. Any ideas?

are you running quicken from a admininstrator account? or from a limited user account? in win xp. Perhaps that is part of the problem - try from admin or owner if you are not doing that

You might be able to somehow get Q99 working, but the real problem is that you are using six year old software on a current operating system. It's time for an upgrade.
