QP2007, Fidelity NetBenefits and One-Step Update

Well tonight I downloaded and upgraded to QP2007 from QP2006. All looks pretty good, except I just noticed that Fidelity NetBenefits no longer appears in my list of financial institutions during one-step update. All other bank, CC and even a Roth IRA account at Vanguard work as usual. I checked in the online settings for my Fidelity 403b account (direct downloads worked fine before upgrade), and everything looks fine. When I try to update that one account, however, no financial institution shows in the list. (It does for my other accounts when I update them individually.) So I looked in the Online Center, and sure enough, Fidelity NetBenefits is in the list. But when I try to update from there, it says I have no active Internet connection. (I do, can ping remote hosts, access web pages, update my other accounts, etc.) I looked in the list of supported financial institutions, and sure enough Fidelity NetBenefits is still there. As a last resort, I deactivated online access for this account. But when I try to reactivate it, it tells me that my financial institution is not supported!

Any idea what's happened between QP2006 and QP2007 in a couple hours ... re this phenomenon? I just updated all my accounts prior to backing up, validating and creating another backup, and then finally installing QP2007 (which automatically removes QP2006). I even made an image using True Image 9.0 prior to upgrading to QP2007, so I can easily roll back. But I'd rather not....

Thanks and Regards,

Margaret

OK, problem solved. Instead of trying to reactivate One-Step Update for my Fidelity NetBenefits account, I just went into the register and clicked "Update Transactions." Here, it simply prompted me for my customer ID and password twice, as it normally would when reactivating one-step update for an account. Anyway, it worked. Of course, I had to then edit my PIN Vault to save the password, and all seems fine. Fortunately the deactivate/reactivate process did not cause a download of a ton of old transactions (as has happened to me with other accounts in the past). Anyway, a heads up in case anyone else sees this issue.

Margaret

Thanks for posting your fix! Always nice to let people know how one fixed a problem in case one is searching the NG for a similar situation down the line.

Y'welcome, Andrew. Sometimes I think taking the time to post re a problem actually helps me to solve it myself. Must be my subconscious working through the problem as I type about it. ;-) Of course, it's great to have help from others those times my pea brain can't figure it out on its own. ;-)

Margaret
