One Step Update

Using Quicken 2014 Deluxe. As a result of recent changes I made I am now getting two similar (but not exactly the same) errors with One Step Update:

  1. For one Quicken Account, the error is "Your financial institution has rejected your request."

This is an old credit card account that was closed. I told the CC company it no longer existed, but I must have done it wrong (or forgotten to tell Quicken about it). Can someone please tell me what to do now?

  1. For another credit card Quicken Account, the error is "Your financial institution does not recognize the account XXXXX (nnnnnnnnnnn)." This is an existing Quicken account, and it had two credit card numbers associated with it. One of those numbers was for an account that was long ago closed, and I told the CC company to delete that card number from the account, but I must have done it wrong (or forgotten to tell Quicken about it). Can someone please tell me what to do now?

Thinking about number 2 some more, the problem might be that I have the wrong name for the account in Quicken, not matching what the CC company has. Can someone tell me how to check what Quicken has and how to correct it?

I found where to turn off online updating for this old account, and that problem is fixed. Problem number 2, below, remains, though, and I would still appreciate help with it. See below for another comment.

And I now think that addition I made is wrong. I think it's what I said originally--it's an account with two credit card numbers associated with it. One of those numbers was for an account that was long ago closed.

And one more update to this problem.

I continue to get this error message every morning when I do the OSU.

**But** this morning, OSU gave me transactions for the CC account in question. So the problem is apparently that there are two Quicken accounts with this CC account, and the error is with one of them. I need to do some more research.

OK, finding the other account and turning off OSU for it was easy. The problem is now fixed.

Hi, Ken.

Congratulations! And thanks for keeping us informed. ; On Mon, 13 Jan 2014 15:19:18 -0700, "Ken Blake, MVP"
