Question with Bank of America Changes

Bank of America has recently changed procedures so for the last few days I haven't been able to download data. I have 6 or 7 accounts under the B of A all other states heading and it updates them all at the same time. It also updates two other brokerage accounts. Today I called B of A to fix the problem and had to change my account name and password. I have no trouble changing the password in quicken. However, I can't for the life of me figure out how to change the account name (Note the individual account numbers have not changed only the log in name used for on line banking and the quicken update) Can it be that Quicken does not allow for the change in an account name? Please tell me what I've been missing!

Thank you.

I have never heard of a situation where downloading depended on the Quicken account name ... and I'm reasonably certain no such change is required in your case. Neither your fi, nor Intuit, know anything, nor care anything, about the name you have assigned to your Quicken accounts.

I download from BofA All Other States many times every week: I have zero problems, and I have not been asked to change anything about my account: not customer-id nor password ... much less Quicken account name.

I suspect you are using Quicken's Web Connect process to download (or perhaps Express Web Connect ... a much less reliable download method, at this time).

If so, and if Quicken is asking you to identify the account your downloaded transactions should be assigned to: you need to "Deactivate" the appropriate account for downloading. Then, the next time you download, you will find the appropriate account available to select.

[If Quicken doesn't know what account the downloaded transactions should go to, it will never allow you to tell it to use an account that is already "activated" for transaction download.]

Thanks for the immediate response John. I didn't know there were options for download except to do it automatically or to go on the fi site and do it individually. The way I do it normally is open Quicken and hit the update button. I have the the accounts with passwords in the vault. The data from all the accounts download. I assumed that since the account number associated with all the accounts, ie; b of a, TD Ameritrade etc. that thats what it has to be. Those are the numbers I have to use to get on their web site. The b of a account number changed so I assumed that the number in Q had to change. Since, from what you're saying, it's immaterial, I'll try it tomorrow as is and post if I do have a problem with it.
