Quicken 2005 "view as a check"-where is it?

I briefly found a useful function called "view as check" that enables one to see what the address was in writing checks, inasmuch as there might be two or three entries in the picklist with the same name, but I could not find it again. It's another annoyance is a name for the payee and the addressee seemed to be in two different places, so that correcting it in scheduled transactions isn't enough to get the job done. Ah, well, better than Egypt. JP

I believe you're talking about "Write Checks", found in the "Cash Flow" menu in Q2005.

If the payee/transaction is memorized and the transaction type is "Chk", you can also Edit the payee/transaction in the Memorized Payee List and click its Address button.

I don't understand the question here, perhaps you can elaborate.

No, it wasn't in the write checks section. I'm pretty sure I was just looking at the transaction in the register. The option was there, perfectly clear, "View as a check". It was extremely helpful.

Why after all these years, when it asks you if you want to use the duplicate check number, why doesn't it display the other transaction so you can make a sensible guess? It looks very simple to do, and again very helpful. I get to question all the time because I have a series of checks and a series of receipts that crossed paths. John Polasek

The "view as a check" appears if you click on a register item that has the word 'print'; it is a pending check. I think it would be nice if it worked for all checks so you could verify the address. (We have had quite a bit of trouble with misdirected checks because of changes in homeowners association addresses and mailing to the address in the coupon book).

I am repeating my request for Quicken to dispense a little information when they inform me that it is a duplicate check number, so I don't have to do a search and find operation. John Polasek
