Quicken 2005 H&B - Says Update Available But It Isn't

I am running Quicken 2005 H&B R6.

When I started it today it asked if I wanted to update Quicken now. I hit cancel and went to the Quicken web site to download the update. Unfortunately, the latest update for Quicken 2005 is QW05R6PATCH.EXE which I already have and already applied.

Is there an R7 update for Quicken 2005 and if so why isn't Intuit posting it on its web site for manual download and application?

Quicken support said there wasn't another update and that it must be an installation problem and to uninstall Quicken 2005. Then delete the folders under my profile related to Quicken 2005. Then install it again and then apply the R6 patch.

Instead I just ran the R6 patch again. It said it wouldn't be applied because my version of Quicken already had the last patch applied. Then after I clicked on that it said my version was up to date and it ended.

I no longer get the update request when I start Quicken 2005. It appears the R6 patch did set some flag somewhere that it was already applied.

Intuit's technical support seems to have been trained to provide users with the standard four R's workarounds: Retry Reboot Reinstall Regurgitate

But at least they resp>I am running Quicken 2005 H&B R6.

I also had issues with one step update on 05 H & B. After replacing my hard drive, I reinstalled Quicken. The first time I ran One Step update, it alerted me that there updates through R5 were available. The download started and I got progress messages then at the very last step - update failed, no additional information provided. I tried twice then I decided to update manually. The R6 updated never showed up in One Step Update.
