I have Quicken Delux Release R7. I would like to have my checkbook register entries remain in the order in which I entered them, not moved and sorted by check number, ATM, etc., as the program does now.
I've tried all the settings in Preferences and Tools. Does anyone know if what I want to do is possible and how to do it?

You didn't give the year of your Quicken version, but since Q2010 does not have an R7 release (at least not yet), I'll assume it is not Q2010 (for which the answer would be different).
In the "View" menu of the account (in the Transactions tab, or "register"), select "Sort by order entered".
