Reactivating or Resyncing or whatever my Q05

Jun 16, 2005 4 Replies

I know this has been covered before so let me begin by saying I apologize for the repetition. But, I cannot find the instructions for resyncing my Q05 with whoever it is that provides the downloaded stock quotes for the investment portfolio. Everything works except Quicken.com updates which I don't care about and my daily stock quotes which I really miss. (Two separate things, right?)

I have:

  1. Looked in Q05 Help file - useless
  2. Researched the web site - completely confusing
  3. Googled this group - no joy

PLEASE point me to a link or provide the instructions for getting my stock quotes to work again. If it is connected with the quicken.com not working I'll use quicken.com but I don't care about having quicken.com carry my accounts....I just want the quotes to come down when I do an Update.

Thanks for any help.

RANT: This is the most confusing software I have EVER used in my 20+ years of computer experience. The web site is WORSE! If you've endured the learning curve to learn to troubleshoot this bloated piece of work my hat is off to you! I'd switch but I don't have that option. END RANT:

Have you tried Edit > Preferences > Customize Online Updates, and then select the Quotes Tab?

Thanks for the suggestion. When I go there I only have the Connection tab, no Quotes tab.

I had the same problem. I reinstalled the software.

That would be about what I would expect from Intuit. So Frank, did you uninstall or install on top of the previous installation? You then restored from a backup, right?

Thanks for the help.
