I know (or at least I thought I knew) I had done a new account set-up with similar properties before, but either I didn't or I have mnissed something somewhere, so her goes:
I opened a Roth IRA at Franklin Templeton Investments (FT) and bought 5 funds. Received the statement and everything looks as I expected. I went into Quicken Deluxe 2013 to add the account.
TOOLS> ADD ACCOUNT
Here is where I am not sure what to pick. I choose Brokerage since I want all the funds to be tracked togetjer, but their account numbers are all different. To be clear, I have had accounts that were say account "12345", and each fund's account number is made up of a fund number and the "12345", which make things easier to aggregate. If I do the Direct Connect download, and for each security transaction it d/l's I hav e to tell it it belongs to a specific Quicken Account 5 times and then it says it downloaded transactions to an unlnown account, and I'm left with nothing.
If I choose IRA or Keogh plan, after the Direct Connect download, I end up with 5 separate Quicken accounts, which is NOT what I want.
What have I done wrong? or is what I want not ossible, which means my wife is right - "you are losing your mind in your old age".
