I have specific categories linked to tax line items, but my dataset was originally migrated from Managing Your Money, and Microsoft Money, so it's been a challenge to consolidate the categories and figure out which ones were supposed to be there during program setup. I assumed that Turbotax would allow editing the imported data (so I wouldn't have to manually enter everything), but that wasn't the case. It's either all or nothing, a rude surprise.
