I don't know anything about "transaction groups"; but there are at least two similar sounding Quicken capabilities: Category Groups and Scheduled Transaction Groups.

If you do not know what a transaction group is, why do you think they will help you? Is there something you are trying to do which caused you to think of a "transaction group".

A search of Quicken 2005's help file for leads to information on scheduling investment transactions. That's the only reference to the subject I could find.

If you have multiple scheduled transactions that are processed on the same dates and frequency, you can group them into one group. For example, Federal and State estimated tax payments are due quarterly on the same dates. You create a name for the group, ie. "Estimated Taxes", enter the "account to use", "next date", frequency etc., then you select previously memorized transaction that will be part of the group (in this example, you would have had to memorize both a Federal Estimated tax payment and State Estimated tax payment transactions beforehand).

I have used Quicken since 1990, and back then it seemed like you had to use groups for all your scheduled transactions. But, I no longer use groups.

Using Q2004 dlx, I can't find anything about them in their help files. There is a "Group" button on the "Create Scheduled Transaction" form to create a group though.
