Ver. 2004 Home & Business

I have many issues with this version of quicken. Does anyone have a solution to the following:

  1. After entering a bunch of transactions in the register I get a pop-up that tells me there is an easier way to pay my bills etc.... I click the little box that says "Don't show me this again". Guess what it pops up all the time i.e. never saving the check box.
  2. Each time I log-in to Quicken or Exit the program I get a message that says my last on-line update failed and do I want to try completing it? If I click YES nothing happens (I KNOW for sure the last update completed correctly).
  3. From time to time I get downloaded transactions and in my visa and investment accounts and it changes all of my previous transactions in the account to N/A. The only way I can recover from this one is to restore from Backup (Which I do often) and re-download.

Any input would be appreciated.

Rename \inet\common\alerts\pop\qbp01.dat below your Quicken app folder.

Have you checked your Online Summary to see what fi Quicken thinks did not download? If you find the fi, you can try this:

1.. From the Quicken Finance menu, choose Online Center. 2.. With the Online Center open, press Ctrl+F3, and then click Contact Info. 3.. At the FI Action Required window, select your financial institution, click Refresh, and then click OK. 4.. Attempt your online connection again.

I've heard of it (or something very similar) a few times; never heard of a cause or a cure. You can try Validating and super-Validating (backup first). I would start keeping a log of the date/time, the fi, the download type, the account type (bank, brokerage, IRA, etc.), whether billpay is activated, and possibly other info; perhaps at some point a pattern will show itself. (Also note exactly what is changed; what field or fields are rendered incorrect).

Thanks On #2 there is not any FI that is not updating. The problem is Quicken thinks it failed but in fact it has not.

I changed the Qbp01 file. We'll see if that fixes the problem.

Thanks again
