Yikes, I lost all payees and PIN vault with 2007

I upgraded last week and all was fine, I was impressed for days. Today I went to pay a common bill, and had to enter payee info. Also, no vault, no passwords, etc. Checked list, of the previous 300 payees' years, I have zero. Why would payees and vault be erased?

Oh, this is bad. Now after downloading 8 different accounts, including active trading accounts, it downlaoded all the duplicate trqansactions. i am totally hosed, once again, the reason i stay with older versions,

2004, until Intuit fixes problems. Running with 1G of RAM, 2007 HandB, plenty of disc space, etc.

After an hour on phone with India, Intuit says "don't know", give us $24.95. Ya just gotta hate Intuit for releasing this bug infested version. One thing i did figure out, don't run from an external hard drive. Too bad that they have to have such obscene customer support guidelines.

I wonder if the $24.95 gets you someone that has a clue, or just another Indian script reader.

Mostly script reader but in all fairness, they will elevate your problem if it requires more experience. The stupid mindless pain they put you through beforehand is the real problem.

It happens EVERY time I upgrade Quicken. I have learned to make backups of backups (father, grandfather etc.) and keep them far from the computer until things get straightened out. Intuit ought to be ashamed of themselves. Especially since most of the changes are just to get more money from existing customers.

I wonder how things are going over at the Linux community? I am ready to jump off this train - if only there is somewhere to jump.

On the tax side,I have changed to "Tax Preparer" but it isn't much better than Turbo Tax. But at least there is some at least equal alternative.

India wasn't able to help me either. I finally hand edited the registry taking out anything even remotely saying intuit or Quicken. Customer support just wasted my time. I didn't even find help here.
