you need to select accounts to export error

Quicken Delux 2011

Every time I run one step update, I get the summary page because it claims there is a quicken.com error. I do NOT have quicken.com selected as an update item.

The error detail is: you need to select accounts to export

In the preferences, there is a quicken.com portfolio update section which forces you to select either send my shares or send only my symbols. There is also a list of accounts - I have not selected any account.

How do I get this error to stop so I don't have to clear the update summary every time?

One more question. Is it possible that the error is "stuck", in the sense that it keeps reporting the same old error even though update is no longer checked. I ask because right after my "upgrade" to 2011, quicken.com (at the bottom of the one step screen) was checked and I got the error. It's now uncheck, but could that old error be "stuck"?

If so, how can I fix it short of uploading stuff, which I do not want to do?

Apparently this can't be fixed. There's a KB note from Intuit that states that if you ever activated the interface to Quicken.com, you will get that summary screen, even if you deactivate the feature. Stupid and annoying.

OSU errors generally remain in the OSU Summary until a successful update for that error occurs.

Selecting quicken.com in OSU with no data to send to quicken.com is considered an error.

I believe your choices are: successfully send *something* to Quicken.com, then immediately uncheck the quicken.com box; or restore a backup from before the quicken.com error occurred.

John, you are brilliant. I have been annoyed by this problem for over three years and you come up with a simple solution. Why they couldn't have included this fix in the Intuit KB note I have no idea.

I started getting this error because I had no accounts selected for export, and I had deselected the Quicken.com option in OSU. The fix was to select an account for export, but to uncheck the Quicken.com option in OSU. It seems odd to have to select one or more accounts and then turn off the update to avoid getting an error, but that's how it worked for me.

Margaret

Using John's fix I was able to clear the error. But now it always says quicken.com cloud has been successfully updated. I'm not allowing any data to go to the cloud so I'd like that message to go away.
