The high-profile chairman of Barclays Bank has become the latest victim of identity fraud after a conman stole 10,000 from his personal account in a credit card scam.

Marcus Agius, 61, who took over as Barclays chairman last January, lost the money after a fraudster convinced a call centre worker to issue a credit card in his name

IMO this beats the Clarkson story. Brilliant. Of course Mr Agius immediately (and presumably without argument) got his money back.

I'm sure he did a lot more easily than anybody else would have.

A similar scam at Norwich insurance was only really acted on when senior managers became victims.

Top Gear's Jeremy Clarkson disputed that by fraud could be committed simply by giving access to bank details and so publicised his. See
