Electronic Verification System

When trying to open accounts with Banks and BS the above is quoted as a means of complying with the financial crime and money laundering regulations.

What exactly is it and what is electronically verified?

For some reason my identity cannot be confirmed using the system even though I have various a mortgage, bank accounts, credit cards etc and am on the electoral roll

Do you live in a flat..? I was told the system could not cope with such complexities as flat numbers & street nos. I am not sure I believe it but it is plausible that software engineers who designe such systems have a fairly low IQ..

Are you on public or private electoral list..? It is not meant to make a difference.

Have you checked the exact details on the electoral roll, especially the post code..?
