finding my credit score. Help needed

Oct 11, 2004 2 Replies

Hi This may be off topic, sorry, I could not find a suitable group. I live in the UK and I wish to know the quickest and cheapest option for finding out my credit rating. I know I had a bad one around 4 years ago after trusting someone else to use my name (a family member). Does it change over time? How do i go about repairing credit? I dont wish to borrow anything, just get my name on the business that ive worked so hard to make a success.

Thanks for any info

Chris

You can get a copy of your credit file from Equifax, Experian and Call Credit.

It won't give you a score, as there is no single score. Lenders assign points based on the information in your file, and they have their own scoring systems.

Both Equifax and Experian (don't know if CallCredit does) now have their own "credit scoring systems" - where you can purchase your credit score from them (online at least). Of course, as you say, lenders may have different criteria when they decide on a credit score ...
