How do you tell Royal Mail about recurring missing post / credit cards?

We have had a number of replacement credit and debit cards go missing in the post recently. At first we thought it was just a coincidence, or maybe errors by the bank, but even not so important cards (like Nectar cards) have stopped arriving.

This is strange because for years they have arrived without incident, but this year, all the members of the family have had cards go "lost in the post" at different times. In these days of identity theft, we are starting to get paranoid that we might be being targetted.

Does anyonme know how to tell the Royal Mail about a suspected local problem? Their website is full of customer care guff, but there doesn't seem to be a route to report this sort of thing.

Have you talked to households in your area? If the problem is confined to your family and doesn't affect the wider neighbourhood, the problem could be rather closer to home than a bent postie!

We had a similar problem earlier this year. It turned out the postie was stealing the mail. You can register a complaint by phoning 08457 740 740

We spoke to the neighbours before calling and they confirmed that they too had been losing mail. It was the same scenario as you - for 10 years no problems at all then all of a sudden all we got was junk mail, bank statements started going missing, concert tickets went missing etc. Seems it was a new postie who thought he would help himself.

Call their customer services and discuss it with them. A similar thing happened here and they were very good at investigating, following up with a written summary of their findings.

I had a problem with mail not being redirected from an old address after I moved home. I reported the problem verbally at the local post office and nothing changed, so I put a complaint in writing addressed to the Head Postmaster of the district in which I lived. He wrote a very apologetic letter in reply and assured me the problem would be put right. Sure enough the redirection of mail started to happen properly after that.

I know this is not quite the same situation as the OP reported, but it did restore my faith in the ability of the Post Office to sort things out when they do go wrong.
