Inducement to open a First Direct account.

Some time ago I got a letter from First Direct offering me £35 to open an account; I ignored it and received a second letter offering me £50. Any idea if they would offer me more if I ignored this one?

Also, in general, if one ignores the initial offer, do banks, etc, usually offer a better inducement and can anyone provide any examples?

Thanks

despite several complaints they never paid me my inducement to open account (15 quid back then) so don't trust them to pay anything.

They are running TV ads at the moment offering 50 so I think its likely to be part of that, rather than they noticed you were a person that was expensive to bribe!

Totally OT, but I bought some valentine flowers online from Tesco. Later they reduced the price, and they emailed me to say that I would benefit from this reduction as well. Sounds like a similar case to me.

I don't watch TV very often, but I wonder if those ads are shown in Scotland?

I got a letter on Saturday saying we previously offered you 25 and you didn't respond. We are now putting it up to 35.

Alliance and Leicester actually offered me 100 last year, but one of my colleagues put me off as she had a tale of woe about them.
