A bit steep, no? It was only in Chinese! Just 'cos most people here can't make sense of it doesn't make it abuse, just a bit misguided.

An advert, written in Chinese, spamming a referral program for an ING Direct ISA.

I think the abuse report is definitely justified.

If you are reporting "spam", we will require the complete message headers of the mail you received -- complete messages headers are required to track where the message originates. We can only assist/investigate with spam that came from our site [129.97.*.*].

If you are reporting "hacking" attempts such as scans or probes we will need precise data from your system logs to determine the attacker's address as well as the date, time, timezone and a clear indication of the nature of the scan/probe.

You can be assured we do not tolerate any hacking.

Every effort will be made to contact and quarantine systems that are infected with a virus. If you have received a virus by email we will require the complete message with all headers to identify infected system.

You can be assured we take virus infections very seriously.

We value intellectual property -- but systems sharing copyright material through a peer to peer file share are all too common. When we are advised of a violation we will ask the user to remove the copyright material and to disable the file share.

Finally, we are an academic institution with an Acceptable Use Statement to guide our user community. We have a "zero tolerance" policy towards spam and network abuse of any kind.
