I am proposing to rent a car from Avis in Italy for 2 weeks holiday. Basic T&C are fine but to eliminate excesses they are quoting:-
Super Collision Damage Waiver euros 184 and Super Theft Protection euros
137. This is for a Group C car, Corsa or equivalent, and for maximum risks of euros 850 and 1700 respectively.Does anyone have knowledge of a broker that might give me cover for these risks?

Many thanks for that, looks like the 'answer to the maiden's prayer'. I am surprised at your remarks re cost. Have just got on-line quotes:- Avis 274.16 gbp + 49.57 eur for additional driver Europcar 438.85 gbp Both 14 days unlimited mileage Group C pre-paid - I think I am comparing like with like.

obviously differs greatly from one country to another, I think it was probably the reverse in Crete. Maybe its diff out of season as well? ANyway, enjoy your holiday :-)
p.s I just remembered I got v dfferent quotes depending upon whether I went to Europcar globally then chose greece and then english language, or went to UK site then hired car for greece as UK resident. The latter was *much* more expensive.
I will research further but certainly will use insurance4carhire. I am very grateful for your taking the trouble to reply, I think you have saved me around 200 gbp!

As I said, check out if there are different websites for the same company, the rates are not always the same or anywhere near. MInd you that Avis price looks pretty good.
