Refund not credited by Capital One in timely manner

Feb 03, 2008 1 Replies

Due to a fraudulent attempt on my credit card Capital One had to close my card and reissue me a new one. Meanwhile a refund that was going back onto my account from a retailer has presumably been caught between the 2 cards and Capital One wrote to me saying the refund was being credited this week.

This is about 3 months late. Considering the interest I would have had to pay for a late payment to them, it is reasonable to ask them to calculate the same level of interest due to me for their late payment?

It might be reasonable but IMHO you have no chance of getting it. If you had been charged interest you could have asked for the credit to be back dated and they may have done that but I doubt you will get interest from them and even if you did you would not get anything like the rates they would charge, but there is no harm in asking :-)
